Ok so I understood why Trevor was the way he was. He needed to stay in the minor league cos else baddies would find him, and kill him. So he gets into trouble, but he loves baseball. Poor man, he just wants to play. Also baseball is one boring sport...just saying ;) I am so not familiar with it.Anyway, Abby comes back home after her husband cheated on her. He was an idiot. She starts working for her dad, and meets bad boy Trevor. But he is bad news. And she did just get a divorce from her idiot husband. And there are bad guys after him so he keeps secrets. But he is so fine, she thinksAnd she is so nice, he thinks. So they date, all while he worries about his past. A past that obviously will come calling to build a bit of suspense. There is romance, danger and baseball.

3.5 starsDrive You Wild was an enjoyable read. The storyline was well written, it had the perfect amount of romance, drama and held my interest until the end.Trevor and Paige were great characters, they were good together and deserved their HEA.Overall a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, I highly recommend this book.*Purchase Link* Amazon ~*I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest thoughts*

Another book that filled my wanting to read sports romances. And this one was amazing! Not just cause it was baseball, which is my fav sport, but the story was fantastic. Trevor Stark is an outstanding baseball player who keeps stalling his own career. He does this because he doesn't want his past to catch up with him. Then he meets Paige Taylor and he realizes he doesn't want to live hiding anymore. There were lots of twists and turns in here and I loved it! I'll gladly read more by this author ☺

In the universe of contemporary sports-based romance novels (of which I've read a surprising number very recently - long story), I've found that there is a continuum of wacky. In this continuum, on one end we have books which take a pretty serious view of sports, and on the other end, the sports universe is a setting for a bunch of (usually) funny but really unrealistic stuff that happens to our characters who have some remote connection to sports. I wish I knew how to make a graph or something, but alas, my tech skills are not strong. Anyway, on this continuum, a "realistic" sports romance would be something like Heidi McLaughlin's "Boys of Summer" series, as I'm halfway through Third Base and it is like watching baseball. Now I like baseball, but this is very true to the sport. Other books on this end of the realistic sports continuum include Sarina Bowen's hockey books - realistic travel schedules and as far as I know, very few aliens and criminals subplots. On the other end of the spectrum lives Susan Elizabeth Phillips, whose "Chicago Stars" series of books are a great romp, but their connection to sports (in the books I've read) are tenuous at best. The characters are too busy being wacky to actually attend games. These are fun, but seriously, sports, I'm not sure. And then we have the middle of the continuum - books that are serious about their sports, with descriptions of actual games, and the events and results of those games matter to the characters and the plot. And this book lands right in the middle. We have actual minor league baseball. And we have some wacky "hiding from the mob" plot that explains why this superstar athlete has sabotaged his career at just the right times to avoid being called up to the Major Leagues. For this book, there are really three plot lines: the baseball plot, the side plot, and the romance plot. This book goes 2 for 3, which is batting 667, phenomenal, but could have done better. 1. The baseball plot is really well done. I liked his teammates, the descriptions of the team, the game summaries. Really well done.2. The bizarro subplot about Trevor and his sister hiding from the Detroit area mob was . . . less good. Made very little sense. Hmmmm.3. The romance - back to good again. Both characters came in hauling significant baggage. Paige was fresh off a divorce and Trevor's been jerking around for years, avoiding making any connections that could expose him to the big bad W gang. There is chemistry and obstacles, and everything you'd expect. The emotional journey was well done. The physical heat was a little weird though, as they skimmed over big chunks of them coming together. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode when Jerry yelled at Elaine for "yada yada-ing" sex. This is a romance. You don't yada yada sex. I get it though, as they needed to summarize because these two were having copious amounts of sex. Yeay them! The characters were really good. And about the characters, here's my favorite part of all - they treat each other with respect and neither one throws some type of toddler tantrum and refuses to speak to the other. Hallelujah! Seriously, how many damn romances use "the silent treatment" as a plot device drives me over the bend. Paige has a right to be mad at Trevor a couple times, but she acts like an adult. Love Paige. There is wackiness, including Paige's former all-star pitcher father who owns this minor league team, a mom from I don't know what planet, and a marketing campaign for the team that involves the World's Hottest Outfield. But all of the wackiness falls within the realm of possibility (live is wacky), and mostly made sense.I liked it. I just wished that the hiding from the W gang subplot had made more sense.

Another winner by Jennifer. As a huge baseball fan I got caught up in the excitement in this book. It was a good story with solid characters. Trevor gives off the bad boy vibe where is doesn't care about anything or anyone, but in reality there is more to him than meets the eye. Paige is coming back home after her life has imploded. She never counted on someone like Trevor entering her life. Paige brings out another side to Trevor and makes him crave what he can't have. There is even a suspense element to this book that keeps you on the edge of your seat to see how it plays out. This book sucked me right in and I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend this one!

Kitty & Slick's reviews posted at Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsKitty's 5 star reviewThey say there is no crying in baseball. Well, Jennifer Bernard threw that myth right out of the ballpark. Not only did I cry, but I balled like a baby. Trevor Stark and Paige Taylor tore me apart and then put me back together again, piece by piece.I was blown away with Trevor’s story. The big, bad ice man is actually a truly romantic, extremely sexy man with a heart that is really made of love. As his past unfolds and the truth is revealed, you can’t help but fall in love with him. You understand just what Paige saw behind the sunglasses, behind the crossed arms and beneath the tough veneer. Who he is protecting, what he is hiding, the truth of what really happened and what he really does in his off time will have your heart overflowing with respect and pride. But, what he does in the end, how he handles Crush, as all of his dreams finally come true, you will not be able to do anything but cheer. And Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor was one unbelievably strong woman who won me over from the first scene in the book. OMG, she was just wonderful! Coming off of a divorce, facing her past, facing her father, standing up to her mother and tearing down Trevor’s walls one brick at a time, all the while helping everyone around her? Can you call her anything but strong? I loved her cat (and I’m a dog person) and everything that she stood for. She was loving, compassionate, head-strong and insatiable. What more can you ask for in a female lead character in a story? Then her name … (Satchel) Paige, (Don) Mattingly … wow two of the greatest players in baseball history. (I’ll let you read the book to find out what Austin stands for.) Finally, Jennifer Bernard paid tribute to a Yankee great, woohoo! But, seriously, what won me over more than the chemistry between Trevor and Paige was how Trevor was discovered, how he became the baseball player that he was. If only all the boys who had some baseball talent had a coach like Grizz who saw something special and refused to give up on him, who built him up instead of tearing him down, who taught the lesson that you show them what you are made up of on the field and not off, we’d have a lot less people in the world doing harm and a lot more doing good. Did I wish that there was a Grizz in my son’s life instead of a coach that told him that his parents didn’t have enough money for him to be a starter? Or a coach that told him that his father didn’t do enough for the Little League so he wasn’t going to make the All Star Team? Or, it takes more than talent, it takes who you know, to make it to the Varsity Team? You bet I do. Now, granted, every parent is proud of their child(ren) and hope that they follow their dreams. But, to watch those dreams shatter time and time again because of heartless, jealous people, breaks your heart. So, if we had more Grizzs’ in the world and less naysayers, we would all be a little bit better off. Now, there is just one thing I have to address with Ms. Bernard … 8 home runs in 1 baseball game by 1 player? Believe me, it was fun to read but also unbelievable. It really did make me smile though at a time in the book where I had no idea which way things were headed. Jennifer Bernard has a way to bring stories to life and Drive You Wild was no exception. In fact, I have had the pleasure of reading all of Jennifer’s works and I will honestly say, even with the Bachelor Firemen series, this is my favorite. There was just something about the way it was written, about the way she brought Trevor to life and told his story that had me hooked. It was the moral of this story of hard work, determination, paying it forward, and respect, not only for the game but those around you, that had me falling in love with the tale that she wove. Drive You Wild is going to be hard to beat, but, I am definitely looking forward to seeing where she is going to bring the rest of the Kilby Catfish, to see what the Wade’s have in store for the team next and just what is going on between Mayor Trent and Crush.Slick's 4.5 star reviewUp front I'm just going to say I love the Kilby Catfish, I love their crazy antics and I love their owner Crush Taylor, retired major league pitcher. I love the small Texas town that supports them and I love the players who come through hoping to get the call up to the major leagues. This is a series about a minor league team, it is refreshing to read and I love Jennifer Bernard for creating this series. Drive You Wild is troubled left fielder Trevor Stark's story and although at times it seemed a bit far-fetched, I still couldn't help watching this seemingly cold, calculated and somewhat aloof man fall and fall hard especially when the woman he wants is the daughter of his boss and fresh out of a divorce. From full out hilarity, to moments of seriousness, to the craziness of their first and second meetings, to the quiet moments where they shared their pasts and their dreams this was an exciting and wonderful love story. From the start of this series Trevor Stark acted very much like an entitled prick with a huge chip on his shoulder. Sure there were moments where he seemed to have a bit of a heart but they were few and far between, so it was refreshing to see that Trevor had a lot of layers and that his dedication to those he cares for runs deep. It was eye opening and pleasantly surprising to see the very human side of Trevor and the more he got involved with Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor the more his tough exterior melted.I can't help but laugh as I think back to all the craziness between Trevor and Paige from their first meeting until the end of this book. All I can say is they have some great stories to tell their children and grand children down the line. What really struck me was that from the beginning Paige saw past Trevor's gruff and tough exterior and the more time she spent with him, the more she realized there was someone really special underneath. Paige is a fixer, it's her nature and while she wanted to help Trevor in any way she began to realize that he unlike her ex-husband didn't need her in that way. He needed her to believe in him and let him fight his own battles. I loved that Trevor had a protective streak a mile long when it came to Paige after only one encounter with her. It was easy to see he was smitten and while he knew getting involved with the team owner's daughter he was willing to risk it especially if it got him in to trouble and out of the major leagues because being there would spell the end to his baseball career and possibly his life. Trevor appreciated everything about Paige from the way she handled her father, to the respect she earned from his teammates and the way she was always willing to lend a helping hand. He encouraged her to follow her dreams and he helped build back her self confidence which had taken a beating with her divorce. Trevor has a whole lot of baggage that comes to light in this story and while parts of it made my eyes roll, it did add a lot of excitement and some very interesting moments to this story and some people from the previous books finally got their due or at least were forced to back off and that made it all worthwhile. With each book in this series I get more invested in this team, it the personalities of the players and the town of Kilby, Texas and I can't wait for the next book in this series.Review copy provided for an honest review.

I really loved this book because even tho baseball itself can never really hold my attention, this story did :) even with the very detailed way Jennifer Bernard presented the game itself to us, I was still held captive to every word. Because the story was good. The romance was good. The love story unfolded well with little angst but yet lots of drama lol I mean who doesn't come with a little drama these days ... ok maybe Trevor had a lot of drama, but it enhanced the story and their journey. He grew from it and so did the story. That's not to say that Paige was drama free, because she wasn't. They each had baggage of their own and together they made a really good couple. They had spark and humor and compatibility.Drive You Wild is the kind of book/story that is light and dark all at the same time ... and not dark in the typical dark romance way. What I mean is that at the same time as it was nail-biting suspenseful it was playfully humorous. As much as it was sexy and hot, it was also sweet and endearing. It was the best of both worlds all rolled into one story. It was fun to read and easy to get lost in for hours.....

This story had an exciting beginning, ending and a couple spots in between but most of the romance was ruminating about why they couldn't be together yet they were wildly attracted to each other. And a lasting relationship a month after a divorce isn't realistic. Recently divorced Paige rescues baseball player Trevor when someone is shooting a BB gun at him.

Drive You Wild is Jennifer Bernard’s third story in her Love Between the Bases series, featuring the Kilby Catfish, a minor league farm team for the San Diego Friars. Trevor is their star hitter, but has a reputation as a wild child – enough to keep him out of the majors. Little do his bosses know that it’s deliberate. He’s got some past secrets that he doesn’t want getting out and likes keeping his national exposure to a minimum. Paige is the daughter of the team’s owner Crush. She’s had a rough time of it lately with her now ex-husband having dumped her for a national cooking star back in Italy. She’s come home to lick her wounds, and spend some time with her dad. Getting a job with his team is a no-brainer, and she can reluctantly admit to herself that learning more about the sport her dad loves might be an okay thing now that she’s an adult. While her first meeting with Trevor is a bit of a hair raising adventure, she gradually comes to realize that he’s all bark and no bite – well, maybe a little biting in the bedroom because the sparks definitely fly between them. But Trevor has worked long and hard to keep his past a secret – when it pops up its ugly head, he’s determined to make sure Paige stays safe, even if it means he might have to push her away. Can Paige convince Trevor that being part of a team is better than going it alone? This is the first time I’ve read a full length book by this author (I had previously read a book co-written with Erin Nicholas) and I have to say that I quite liked it! Though the story went in a bit of a direction I wasn’t expecting, it certainly made for a unique tale and a great way to explain Trevor’s behaviour. Trevor comes across as a badass player, a guy who is cocky and arrogant. But it’s all a front for the kind of guy Trevor really is. When he’s not at the ballpark, he’s volunteering in secret at a boys and girls club. And his number one priority is making sure that his sister is protected from any fallout from their past.Paige is a delightful character! She’s still nursing a bit of a broken heart (though realizing fairly quickly that she’s better off without her ex) but determined to put the past behind her and make a new future for herself. Though she and her father have had a somewhat strained relationship in the past, it’s clear that they love each other, and he’s quite happy to have her home, and working with his team at the stadium (though he’d rather she stay away from the players). I really enjoyed her relationship with her father (who is another one with a gruff demeanor hiding a bit of a softie inside). As for Trevor, well it doesn’t take Paige long to see through his facade. As they spend time together, things heat up between them and it’s not long before Trevor is rounding the bases to home plate (wink wink). They share some super sexy scenes together. But Paige also makes Trevor long for the day when he can let his past go and really make plans for his future. There are several scenes featuring the game itself which were great to read. You don’t have to watch baseball to understand what’s going on. As well, the camaraderie between Trevor and his teammates showed clearly that even though he might think he’s fooling them, they know deep down that he’s really a good guy. I appreciated the multiracial nature of the team and how Trevor is willing to stand up for his teammates when he sees any kind of prejudicial behaviour. The story takes some twists and turns, and adds a bit of low-level suspense into the mix right from the start, so I found it definitely held my interest all the way through. 4 stars for a thoroughly entertaining and sexy story!Note: a copy of this story was provided by the publisher for review. There a few things that I love about this series from Bernard but the one that sticks out most that this book isn't about a mlb team but a minor league team which makes it unique. If you read the previous books you met Trevor and know that he can be a real cocky sob, but after reading his complete story I totally fell in love with him. He's talented, smart and definitely swoon worthy. But he always shows a caring and loving side to not only his sister and Paige but to his teammates.I liked Paige a lot! Even though she was going through just be divorced by cheating ex she still had that fire to want to change and get back out there. When she first meets Trevor she is attracted to him but as the time goes go she falls in love with the good man that he is that not many others actually get to see. One thing I loved about this book was the humor. It was fun and I really did have so many favorite parts of this book. One of my favorites is when is Trevor is in his coaches office pants-less and Paige is there but he hasn't noticed her yet. It's a cute scene :-)Bernard did an excellent job on describing the players on the field when they were playing their games. It felt real as if I was watching it on my tv. Of course in all romance books we get a little drama and this one isn't any different. Both these characters have a past and both drama is equally distributed between them. It was nice not seeing it all pinned on just one main character. I really enjoyed that the women from the previous books make more then one appearance. I thought it was great how they just tied right into the story. There are so many teammates to go and I secretly hope they all end up getting there own book before they are called up to the majors. I also hope that Trevor's sister will end up with her own book as well if she ends up staying in Kirby. I'm really looking forward to seeing where Bernard takes this series in future books.

Just this year I have been exposed to the awesomeness known as Jennifer Bernard. I was first exposed to her when she did a collaboration with Erin Nicholas (One of my FAVORITE authors EVA!) in Getting Wound Up. That book was all sorts of awesome and was introduced to the characters from her Love Between the Bases world. I was so intrigued by Trevor that I was chomping at the bit to review this book. Boy was I not disappointed!Trevor is closed off because of things in his past, so he comes off this uncaring jerk. Everyone gives him a wide berth, except Paige, the team owner's daughter. Their chemistry was singeing the pages with every page flip. I enjoyed Paige a lot. She was a strong female lead who knew her mind, even if she was cheated on. She wasn't bogged down by bitterness. It was rather refreshing. When I was previously introduced to the sexiness know as Trevor Stark, I had to know what made him tick. I have a strong pull to the strong, silent types. I love the fierceness in which he loves and protects the ones he cares about. And he is just plain sexy as hell. I truly enjoyed getting to dig deeper into who he was. He made the book, in my opinion.Drive You Wild has made a firm fan of Jennifer Bernard. I am ashamed to say that I have a few of her books, but they have been bumped up on my TBR list. :)

I’m so disappointed to have to rate this book with 3 stars because I absolutely love Jennifer Bernard’s books.Write this review is so sad because I was so waiting for more when I started this book. I’ve been waiting to read Trevor’s story from the first book when he got into the Catfish and was Caleb Hart’s enemy #1. His careless attitude were clear a mask of something so much big and when I read the preview about Trevor and Paige romance, I wanted to know how they’d get together right away. But, as it turns out, I couldn’t manage to engaged in their love story. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them and their steamy scenes weren’t as fulfilling as the previous books. I liked the fact that Trevor had a past he was running from and a sister he had to protect and that he hide behind his iceman face, but for him to be so scared of his past to how things turned out for them at the end, it felt a little lame.Anyway, I figured since Nina and Lieberman had something going on, that the series continues, so I’m still waiting for the next story hoping it return to the path of the first and the second book.

Yay! A wonderful book by a great author! First exposed to the Love Between the Bases series by a collaboration with Erin Nicholas, I was really excited when I found out Trevor was going to get his own book. Drive You Wild by Jennifer Bernard had it all. Brooding baseball player, sassy heroine who happens to be the team owner's daughter, a little intrigue, and a LOT of hotness! An all around good read!ARC provided by Edelweiss.

I am so hooked on this series! who doesn't love a good book especially when a bad boy is involved! Trevor Stark is just a big ole nice guy hiding inside this big delicious mystery man. There couldn't have been a better person to pair him up with than Paige. I'd you are looking for a good series, I suggest picking up Jennifer's Love between bases series, you won't be disappointed

Being picked to play for a major league team is a dream come true for any baseball player. However, Trevor Srark is happy playing for the Kilby Catfish and does everything he possibly can to ruin his chances of being called up. When the team owner's daughter rescues him from a hairy situation, Trevor knows he's going to have to do everything in his power to distract her, otherwise she could be the one person to get him to talk about his past; a past he'd doesn't want anyone to learn the truth about.Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor has returned to the tiny Texas town where her father owns a baseball team to lick her wounds after her failed marriage. Although it seems she's better off without her husband, even if the split was amicable. With a chance to work alongside her dad, she's been warned not to get too friendly with the players. Unfortunately, when it comes to Trevor Stark, her father's warning has gone in one ear and out the other. Because Paige is determined to learn why he keeps ruining his chances of being called up to play in the major league.Having absolutely loved the first two books of this series, there was no way I wasn't going to read this one, and I've got to say that it does not disappoint. From start to finish, this book was highly entertaining, fast-paced and captivated my attention immediately by what happens to Trevor. Normally, he's the one sabotaging his chance at being called up to the major league ranks. But this time is different, and he's lucky that Paige is there for him.The dialogue was compelling, and a nice blend of playful and intense. The intense due to the main characters back stories, the danger Paige faces because of her growing relationship with the hero, and the choices Trevor has to make throughout the book to protect those he cares about. While the playful dialogue between Trevor and Paige had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after. There's also some light-hearted moments between Paige and her father that made me smile. He's protective of her, and I could understand why, since he felt like he's failed her in some way. Both the main characters as well as the secondary ones were fantastic. Paige and her father have quite a close bond, and I liked how protective he was of her, even though Paige didn't pay much attention to his advice. Then there's Trevor' sister, Nina. I felt sorry for her. She feels guilty for what Trevor's had to do to protect her, and there's no way she's going to continue to allow him to make the sacrifices he's made. As for Paige, she's strong, brave and I liked her determination to discover the truth of why Trevor keeps ruining his chances of playing in the major league. Since she knows there has to be something major that's keeping him from competing at the top level, because he lives and breathes baseball and there's nothing more important to him than the game besides protecting his sister. I also liked how she's trying to pick up the pieces of her failed marriage and move on, even though there are constant reminders of her ex because he's getting married again. Moreover, Trevor is good for her in the way he provides a wonderful distraction from the constant reminders. While Trevor, it isn't easy for him to get close to anyone for fear that they'll end up getting hurt when things he supposedly did in his past come back to haunt him. Yet, Paige manages to worm her way into his life by not giving up on him, even when -- at times -- he lives up to his nickname 'Ice Man'. The decisions he had to make when it came to his sister, his career and Paige weren't easy, but I'm glad he made the right choices. No way could he let the bad guys win. Not when it could cost him his career and the chance to be with Paige.Overall, this book was a wonderful addition to the Love Between the Bases series by Ms. Bernard. The hot sex scenes, well-written dialogue and attention-grabbing plot certainly made for a riveting read that has me so looking forward to the next story in the series, especially if Trevor's sister is the heroine. This story ended perfectly with the challenge between Trevor and Paige's dad, and if the hero won than his prize was worth facing off with her dad. I would recommend Drive You Wild by Jennifer Bernard, if you enjoy contemporary romances with a dash of suspense.

I was given this book for an honest review4 starBB gun!!! What a way to start a book and it was so much fun to read that beginning chapter. Baseball, America's past time and why not include it in reading time. What a great summer read. It had everything, sports, love, drama, and of course a hea. So why miss out? The characters are likable, you love getting to know each of them. The main characters, well you pull for them. They have been through a lot and finding each other is pretty cool. How they deal with the obstacles that are put in front of them is good and sometimes you are really tempted to kill them. You see how Trevor and Paige grow throughout the book. How finding each other helped them grow emotionally and proves sometimes you need a little help from the people around you to be able to move on and adapt. Paige is looking for an escape for a bit at the beginning of this book. Her future is not etched for her anymore and she has decided she needs some downtime to start planning the next steps of her life. Crush is her father and manager of a baseball time, so spending time with him should be easy and low key. How wrong was she. A bb gun, a shirtless guy and well lets just say she is hooked already. I really enjoyed Paige. She has this great aura about her. Everyone loves her and she is so kind on so many levels. Shes takes obstacles and makes them a lesson in life. she is that best friend you wished you had when you wanted to stab exes or that best friend that you needed when your heart was breaking, or the best friend that you took for a road trip to find yourself. Paige is that you person you need to steer you in the right direction and to stay on course. Trevor is one of the best ball players you have ever seen. Has been in the minors forever and everytime its time for him to be called off, his personal life makes headlines. He has secrets and doesn't want them to be uncovered. So when this girl saves him, his world gets turned upside down. He doesn't let people close, but Paige just finds a way to crack him. His secrets could be the problem, if he doesn't figure out how to trust and believe in someone again. Trevor is the baller that has things to lose, if he isnt careful. So trust is a hard thing for him to give. He loves playing baseball, but he loves his sister more. So when he has to choose, it becomes a problem because now he has to put Paige in the mix. He screws ups, he's a guy what do you expect, its how he makes it right that counts in this book. He is trying to please everyone but himself, so as he learns to adapt, he has to learn how to let people in and learn to love. These two have a chemistry within the boo, that has you reading page after page. and that is what makes a great story. All of your secondary characters are excellent also. They are needed for the growth of your main characters. The team, the coach, the mayor, even your bad guys in the story helps make this book come to life. The author put together a great book and it looks like this is going to be a series. This is a great summer read and I hope to read more about all the baseball players in this series. I hope to get a few more glances of Trevor and Paige throughout this series. I feel a great series never just finishes someones story and doesn't give you a little more of their life within the next books of the series. I hope to read more from this author, but I really did enjoy this book.

As with any book by Jennifer Bernard, you find yourself sucked right into the story, swept along for the ride and jumping for joy at the HEA that these characters find at the end of the story. This is the third book in the Love Between the Bases series, I have to tell you, that does not matter. If you have not read the other books in the series, the read will never be lost, because that book stands alone. This is the story of Trevor and Paige.Trevor Stark is the Kilby Catfish left-fielder, minor league baseball, one of the best at what he does. He has the potential to make it to the big leagues, if he would only stop getting in his own way. But what his team, his friends, and the owner don't understand is that if he had it his way, he would never be called up. Not because he does not want to play in the big league, but because it would mean disaster for not only himself, but the safety of his little sister. For that, he will sacrifice anything, do anything to keep them both safe. When a crazy with a pellet gun attacks Trevor at the stadium, he never thought that his white night would be the beautiful, feisty, and so off limits Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor.Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor is the owners daughter, a 24 year old who comes crawling back to Kilby to lick her wounds after her basketball husband cheated on her. Needing to get her life on track, Paige agrees to help her dad get the baseball team into the championships, and giving them a boost with their not so clean image is just the place to start. If there is one thing that Paige loves is a mystery, digging until she uncovers what people don't want to reveal, and Trevor Stark is at the top of her list. But as Trevor and Paige open up to each other, confide in each other, the danger from Trevor's past starts to close in, and pressures from outside forces could mean disaster for everyone if Trevor can't learn to lean on the people that will always stand by him. Because there is no "I" in Team.I loved the chemistry and sparks between Paige and Trevor. The way that Trevor understood Paige, encourages her to follow her dreams for herself, not anyone else, telling her that she is enough just the way that she is means everything to her. And the way that Paige is able to get Trevor to open up, the way that she protects his secrets and confidences. The way that she will risk it all to help keep Trevor and his sister safe shows the amount of inner strength that this character really has.Another amazing story that is sure to make you want to scream "PLAY BALL".

It’s game on for love in the third novel of USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Bernard’s sexy, baseball-themed series.Kilby Catfish left-fielder Trevor Stark is a ballpark legend. With his good looks, hitting records, and played-for-the-fans arrogance, Trevor makes women lose their minds and men lose their cool. But every time the major league team comes calling, Trevor purposely keeps himself in the tiny Texas town. Why is heart-tuggingly top secret. Until the team owner’s daughter comes to Kilby . . . trying everything up her sexy sleeve to make Trevor talk.Divorced and disillusioned at twenty-four, Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor is suddenly starting fresh as an intern at Catfish Stadium. She should want nothing to do with the sinfully hot ballplayer her dad warned her to stay away from. But when she discovers what Trevor is hiding from everyone, she realizes there’s much more to him than his face and multi-million-dollar arm. There’s a heart she seriously hopes to win.Review:This was such a fun and sexy read!In this book we finally get to see what Trevor is really like and what is hiding behind his cool exterior and bad boy ways. I loved to see that there were so many layers to Trevor and he really becomes so likable and a real leading man. Paige is quirky and fun, with just heart and toughness to stand up to all the guys. I love the dialogue between Trevor and Paige they are witty and sarcastic. Loved the scene where they meet, it is just great and was so fun to read. Of course they have chemistry off the charts, though Trevor fights it. Paige even though she just went through a divorce is much more willing to give romance another try. She wears him down though, and when they are intimate there are some good sexy times with a little kink thrown in. All the side characters make an appearance, because you can't have a baseball story without the other players and it fun to read about them.Ms. Bernard is one of my go to Authors. I know I can count on her to write an interesting story and characters that I know I can loose myself in for a few hours. This story is no exception! I highly recommend this book and her others if you want a great story, excellently written.4.5Stars*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.*

Posted on What I'm ReadingFinished Drive You Wild by Jennifer Bernard. If you have been following the series you would know remember Trever Stark, as being an ass. He's not the friendliest guy, but the ladies love him. However, there is a good reason why he's the ice man, and they actually don't stem from baseball even though he's keeps a cool head on the game. Yes, our good boy Trevor has secret past that he would like to keep out of the spotlight, and it explains a lot about his antics. Of course, he starts to melt when he encounters Paige Taylor. Now Paige knows how to wiggle into someone skin, because she's like a marshmallow, all soft and mushy. Being a marshmallow isn't a bad thing, because the world needs marshmallow people. These two were fun together. I mean they try to avoid each for a few chapters of the book. I mean Paige is coming off a divorce and isn't too found of athletes, not only that her father has warn her away from Stark. Once Trevor realizes Paige is Crush's daughter, he tries to avoid her. However, that isn't the easiest thing to keep a moth from a flame. Saying that these to are hot for one another is an understatement.Trevor is definitely an onion. However, I did like how Sadie described him as an iceberg, but you don't see what is underneath iceberg. He's actually a pretty amazing guy. Paige, what's not to love. As I said she's like a marshmallow. She has this ability to let people open up and unburden their burdens. I have to say, it makes Trevor a little jealous at times, even though Paige only has eyes for Trevor. Liked these two together. They seem to bring out the best out each other.Overall, I liked Drive You Wild, because Paige and Trevor. Trevor makes this story, because you get to know him more than the ice man. The ending is a quick clean up of all the drama that happen in the story. I hope that Stark's sister gets with Jim Leiberman. Anyway, hope there is more A Love Between the Bases books. If you haven't read the previous books, you don't need to worry, but you will see how he was before Paige.Copy provided by Avon via Edelweiss.

"Just his luck, to share the hottest kiss of his life with a woman he couldn't go near."Just when I thought those Kilby Catfish couldn't get any hotter...enter Trevor Stark!!!I knew he would have a great story to tell, and boy, does he ever!! Trevor has a past he wishes he could forget, but that's not possible. And when that certain past tries to come into his present, he needs no distractions-no one else to protect. Too bad Paige Taylor didn't get that memo. Because she's about to change Trevor's entire world. Even if she is the owner's daughter..."You are a very dangerous girl, you know that?""Why?""Because you make me forget things I shouldn't."In true Jennifer Bernard form, both main characters have a story to tell. They each have a struggle they are facing. It takes trusting the other to overcome the pain of the past. The Love Between the Bases Series has become one of my favorites of all time because there is a sense of family even with no blood relation. Those Kilby Catfish stick together through it all. Even if they don't all agree with Trevor's ways. He can be a little stubborn and brooding;)But one thing is for sure, he protects what's his. And Paige is all his no matter how much he tries to push her away-or protect her. She's not going anywhere."I wish you saw yourself the way I do. You're not a badass. Well, not just a badass. You're also a hero."This book quickly became my favorite in the series so far! There were small surprises around every turn, and so much sexiness and love within the pages.Trevor and Paige had so much chemistry right from the start, and it continued all throughout the story. I was so pleased with every single detail!!I can't wait to see who's next to have their own story!! I have my ideas of who I want;) But, of course, I'll be happy no matter who it is because who doesn't love stories about hot baseball players?! "Trevor Stark was practically lethal. He should come with a prescription-take only in small doses. Guaranteed to Drive You Wild."

The mysterious Trevor Stark steps up to the plate in Jennifer Bernard’s 3rd book in her Love Between the Bases series, and Ms. Bernard hits a grand slam with this fantastic read about a very talented minor league ball player and the team owner’s daughter!Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor (was) Notswego is the eldest daughter of Kilby Catfish owner Crush Taylor. Her kind, nurturing nature led her into marriage and a life in Italy with her self-centered basketballer husband. Now divorced, she heads to her dad’s home in Kilby to regroup and figure out her life. No part of that plan included rescuing bad boy player Stark from a lunatic with a BB gun! Sparks fly as the chemistry between the two starts to churn. As the romance between Trevor and Paige heats up, Trevor’s past comes back in a tidal wave to wash over him. His aloof nature, bad boy persona and arrogance hid a jaw-dropping secret I totally did not guess! When his sister Nina comes to visit, she exposes not only her identity but leaving her and Trevor vulnerable to some very seriously “bad” bad guys. As the ice shell surrounding Trevor begins to melt thanks to Paige’s love and kindness, the dark cloud of the past begins to churn…..I loved, loved, loved this book! Sure, it had everything I love in contemporary romance: well-written, charming characters (and some not so charming….”Easy Brindisi” LOL), an engrossing plot and fabulous dialogue. I was truly blown away by the plot surrounding Trevor and Nina’s past; it was so well done and engrossing I read the book in one sitting!!! The perfect conclusion to the Love Between the Bases series!I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

**Received an ARC from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.**"Drive You Wild" is written by Jennifer Bernard, and it is the 3rd book in her Love Between the Bases series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Trevor Stark and Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor.Paige comes to Trevor's rescue the first time they meet. Who is trying to shoot Trevor? He's a popular minor league player, who has a wealth of talent and the good looks. But every time he gets called up for the major league team, he does something to prevent himself from staying there. Why doesn't he want to move up from the Kilby Catfish? Any professional baseball player dreams of making it to the major league team, so why doesn't he?Paige is back in town after her recent divorce. She's here to see her father, but when she sees Trevor getting shot at, she takes action. There's instant chemistry, but what Trevor automatically assumes is that Paige is a groupie. He doesn't realize that Paige is actually the daughter of the team owner, Crush Taylor. So what happens when Paige gets assigned to promoting the Kilby Catfish's "Baseball's Hottest Outfield"? Paige realizes Trevor is holding back and doesn't want the recognition like his fellow outfielders. What happens when Paige finds out the truth? Can Trevor learn to trust Paige and the rest of the team?"Drive You Wild" was so amazing! I couldn't put it down! I wanted to know who was after Trevor. The chemistry between him and Paige was so palpable. They were burning hot! One thing I also loved about them was that they supported each other and wanted to protect one another. Jennifer did such a wonderful job! She just gets better with every book she writes!

Trevor Stark is a baseball superstar for the Kilby Catfish, a very big fish in a small pond. He could have made it to the majors several times, but he always seems bent on sabotaging every chance he gets to make it to San Diego. It’s what he needs to do to protect his younger sister Nina, even though baseball is his life, he will do anything to protect Nina. However, when the owner’s daughter, Paige Tyler, comes home and interns for the team, Trevor’s precious anonymity is threatened, as is his heart. Trevor avoids any kind of relationship, but Paige makes it very difficult for him to stay away. Paige knows she must not give in to her attraction to Trevor, but she senses there is much more to him, and Trevor needs to re-evaluate his whole way of thinking about his life and what is most important.DRIVE YOU WILD is an epic romance, with captivating characters, magnificent descriptions of baseball games, and a good dose of mystery and suspense, which Jennifer Bernard weaves into an amazing book. The build-up to the romance is masterful, the writing incandescent, seamless and flowing, and the dialogues ring so true you can hear the characters’ voices. I couldn’t wait to know what Trevor’s secret was, and his sacrifice is heartbreaking. DRIVE YOU WILD is riveting from the first page to the last; I couldn’t read it quickly enough and yet I did not want to miss one single little detail. DRIVE YOU WILD is tender and sexy, intense and light, fun and suspenseful. There is the excitement of playoff games, the wonder of falling in love, and the camaraderie and hopes of a minor professional sports team. DRIVE YOU WILD is a resounding success! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars! DRIVE YOU WILD by Jennifer Bernard is another great addition to the sexy and fun Love Between The Bases series. Set in the world of minor league baseball, this story really packs an emotional punch as well as tugs at the heart-strings. In the previous books, Trevor was kind of an arrogant jerk, but there is a method to his madness. One of the best players on Kilby Catfish team, he always sabotages himself when the major league he has signed with has their eyes on him and are ready to call him up. It's always more disciplinary than playing and he is famous for pulling stunts on and off the field. Unfortunately, he has a few secrets that were foisted on him when he was a teen and they are dangerous. That's when you discover how special and loyal he really is, and how hard the burden he carries weighs on him. Paige saves his butt outside the stadium one night and sparks fly between them instantly. Soon after, he discover's that the feisty woman he met is the manager's daughter, so it's hands off in his mind. Funny how that doesn't seem to work. As Trevor and Paige get to know each other, they find that there are some people you can trust and put your faith in. Time after time, she proves to Trevor that she has his back and that he is worthy of a good life experiencing all of his dreams coming true. Though the story has some serious moments, it also has Ms Bernard's signature brand of humor and sexy sizzle. There are plenty of laughs and the story has great secondary characters. Though neither were looking for love, you cheer when Paige and Trevor get their chance of a happily ever after. This engaging story is another home run for Jennifer Bernard!

DRIVE YOU WILD by Jennifer Bernard will do just that drive you wild. This is book three in Jennifer Bernard's Love Between the Bases series and I hope not the final book! This is Trevor Stark and Paige's story. Fans of the series already knew there was more to Trevor than we'd seen and now we finally get to learn it all. I loved seeing more of Trevor's past and learning what makes him tick. Watching him go through finding Paige and all that follows was fun and page turning! I couldn't wait to see what was to come but at the same time I hated to think this might be the end of this series. I want to see MORE! I want to watch more of this team and see where they go. Fans of the series are sure to find another great read to add to their collection. If you are new to Jennifer Bernard or the Love Between the Bases series, don't worry you won't be lost. Yes there are recurring characters and some you'll be eager to know more about, but there is not a recurring story-line. There is however a recurring bad guy. Just so you know. I loved DRIVE YOU WILD. I can't say it's my favorite of the series only because I think ALL OF ME will hold that spot for a while, however they are all so great it's like picking your favorite child, impossible to do. I highly recommend DRIVE YOU WILD to all fans of great baseball romance with outstanding characters, an engaging story-line, and a setting that will have you wanting to visit. I want more!! This is a perfect summer read, enjoy it will on the beach, waiting at the ballpark, sitting by the pool, honestly anywhere!

Drive You Wild, by Jennifer Bernard, is the third book in her Love Between the Bases series and Ms. Bernard hits this story out of the park. The hero is Trevor Stark, the phenom hitter for the Kilby Catfish, a triple A baseball team in Kilby, Texas. The heroine is Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor, the daughter of team owner Crush Taylor.Paige returns to Kilby after her divorce from a basketball player. She is at lost ends and does not know what to do. Crush decides that Paige will learn about the operations of owning a baseball team. Trevor is a complex character. There are secrets in his past which is why he seems to be constantly sabotaging his chance to get called up to the big league. Unfortunately, some of the secrets come out, causing him problems in Kilby. The chemistry and attraction between these two hits it out of the park. This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. I loved the way Ms. Bernard brought humor and sexy into this story as well as a little suspense. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book, and all others previously written by Jennifer Bernard to all readers and I cannot wait for the next story in this series.I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Another high octane adventure featuring the AAA minor league Kilby Catfish baseball team and starring sexy, bad-boy slugger extraordinaire, Trevor Stark. Trevor schools his features in the batters box when he's staring down a pitcher with eyes that are menacing and as cold as ice. He's intimidating, selfish and arrogant on the field, but off the field he's a screw up, a fighter and a notorious ladies man, which is why he'll never get called up to the Major Leagues. And ironically, he's exactly where he wants to be when he meets a tall, blonde beauty named Paige who wants nothing to do with a sports jock because she just divorced one and she's not ready to get her heart broken again. Paige is the daughter of the Kilby Catfish owner Crush Taylor and when she and Trevor get together the sizzling sparks between them were like a warm front meeting a cold front and the lightning that ensues. Hot, steamy and oh-so-sexy, the chemistry between Trevor and Paige is off the charts in this latest Love Between The Bases romance by the Queen of Baseball, Jennifer Bernard. Trevor's past drives this emotional storyline filled with secrets, danger and heartbreak that will appeal to contemporary romance fans who enjoy some hot action along with their sexually explicit road to happily ever after. This book was hotter than a long hot summer of America's favorite pastime and I thought it was just as entertaining as a trip to the World Series!

Trevor walked out of the baseball stadium and into the line of fire of a gruff, crazed man with a BB gun threatening to kill him for "messing with his girl". What girl? Who knows since there had been so many. A white SUV whizzed by, driven by a beautiful, young woman, rushing to his rescue. "Get in!" She yelled and Trevor was whisked off to safety! The young woman was Paige, daughter of Crush Taylor, the Catfish professional baseball team owner. This first encounter was the beginning of a hot, sexy and sweet relationship! What are the things that Trevor has been hiding behind his icy exterior? What is the truth about his haunted life that keeps him on the run? What is the story behind Nina? I am happy to say that I started reading with the intention of this being just another contemporary romance novel! I was not prepared to become so interested in the fast-paced, sexy story line. I didn't think that I would become so entwined in the rich characterization by the author. I ended up really enjoying the book and couldn't put it down from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this book to romance readers. This book will be published on June 28, 2016. The advance galley was provided by the publisher, Avon Books, an imprint of Harper Collins, in exchange for an honest review.

Book 3 of Jennifer Bernard’s Love Between the Bases series is out and it’s a grand slam. Set in the fictional town of Kilby, Texas and starring the ne’er do well Kilby Catfish, it also introduces us to the romance of Paige and bad boy Trevor. After setting records with his play on the field and his playing of the field, Trevor should be headed to the major leagues but something always gets in the way. When he falls for the Catfish owner’s daughter, Trevor has a reason to stay in Kilby. But his past catches up to him and that may not be a safe idea anymore. This book has action, humor, mobsters, and of course, baseball going for it. The chemistry between Trevor and Paige is explosive from the beginning and I found myself rooting for them to get everything together for their much deserved HEA. The cameos of characters from earlier novels in the series are great and always funny. I loved that we found out more about Crush Taylor and get introduced to his romance, an upcoming installment in the series. DRIVE YOU WILD is the quintessential summer read but I’d love it any time of the year!Rating: 5 starsHeat level: 3.5
