Simply put. But there are shimmers of hope and a whole lot of love in them. I decided to make her bonbon based around water and more specifically the octopus (my favorite animal). I inked the cover with the tentacle of a dead octopus because sometimes the things you love require a sacrifice. I love these poems, but they take a toll on you. Beyond the obvious connection of some of the poem titles like “Drought” or “Baptism,” I think her poems will surprise you in their turns and will leave you swirling in a cloud of ink. Enjoy." --Wes Solether, Bitterzoet Editor...
